Bendigo ED is looking for applicants for registrar positions for next years. We'd also love to hear from people looking for RMO positions who would be interested in ED rotations as part of their year. It is a busy place so you need to be prepared to work. We are the only show in town so you need to be keen to see trauma, paeds, gynae, medicine, surgery, ENT, orthopedics, sport and farm injuries, the lot. You will get on the floor consultant support and close supervision from 0800-2400hrs and have access to an on-call consultant at all times over-night. You will take part in our teaching program (scroll down for the teaching calendar) and quality improvement activities and you will take away some great skills for a career in emergency medicine.

A few weeks back Ben gave an approach to shock centred around the RUSH protocol.  This was a free flowing talk based on real cases - some of who have survived, and some not.  Download the RUSH protocol article here.  If you are not into ultrasound yet then the first few pages are still a beautiful summary of an approach to shock.

Huge congratulations to Swaroop Valluri, Amanda James, Putra Mohd Noh and Mazdak Mansoury for each knocking off two of the primary exams this month. We are all extremely proud of you.

If you are writing a powerpoint presentation you might like to consider using the edCentral template downloadable here (registered users only). Save as a powerpoint template (your computer will save it in a templates folder somewhere, let it do what it wants) and then when you come to write a presentation start powerpoint, click the office button in the top left, click New, click My Templates (about 4th down on the left column) and select the edcentral template). We'd especially encourage this when speaking outside the department.
